Kyle Kertz focuses his practice on advising businesses of all kinds throughout their life cycle, from startup to exit. Kyle Kertz is well known for his deep knowledge of mid-market venture capital and private equity transactions, and he regularly advises clients on business and corporate structuring matters, corporate governance, equity issuances and sales of securities, complex contracts drafting and negotiations, employment contracts and related work, commercial real estate deals, and intellectual property matters. Additionally, Kyle represents franchisors in the launching and growing of franchises of all kinds.

In just his first year of practice and running his own law firm, Kyle originated and counseled clients on more than $50 million worth of capital raises and deals. After practicing for around five years and with a continued passion for growth and entrepreneurism, he joined FBFK to further grow his practice while providing a full service platform serving existing and new clients of all sizes.

Kyle Kertz has previously worked at the boutique DFW law firm Vela Wood, representing startups of varying kinds. He worked at major mortgage provider PrimeLending, assisting in-house general counsel in corporate matters. He also worked in various departments within AT&T and DirecTV, most notably the Studio & Channel Contracts division in El Segundo, California, which oversees the management of all major movie studio and Channel content distribution agreements for the company’s TV and PPV services.

Kyle graduated with a Bachelor’s in Finance & Entrepreneurship from Oklahoma State University and earned his law degree from Southern Methodist University’s Dedman School of Law. In his spare time, Kyle Kertz enjoys golfing, college football, computer programming and coding, and spending time with his family and fiancée, Lindsay.
