Ryan is an experienced commercial litigator. He represents clients in complex disputes and regularly goes against Am Law 100 firms. He understands his clients want to focus on pursuing their business goals and he takes pride in efficiently working with his clients to develop a deliberate and calculated litigation strategy. He has experience with appeals, business partner disputes, contract disputes, patent litigation, trademark disputes, copyright disputes, trade secret disputes, employment litigation, insurance litigation, products liability, bankruptcy (for creditors and landlords), and more. Ryan is Chair of FBFK’s Mentorship Program and Chair of the CCBA Young Lawyers Section. He is an avid hockey player and fan.

  • Key role in multiple breach of contract cases that ended with multimillion dollar settlements for clients (2020-21).
  • Obtained complete victory for logistics client in arbitration, including award of all damages claimed, attorney’s fees, AAA expenses, and arbitrator’s compensation (2021).
  • Obtained final judgment dissolving writs of garnishment improperly placed on client’s bank accounts, including award of attorneys’ fees for client (2021).
  • Obtained take nothing judgment for logistics client facing nuisance, trespass, and Texas Water Code claims arising from the construction of a transloading facility on client’s property (2021).
  • Obtained transfer of case to venue where client is located in breach of contract, fraud, and warranty dispute initiated by former Tarrant County judge (2020).
  • Obtained dismissal of major American telecommunications client with prejudice after filing MSJ on its behalf in contract dispute (2020).
  • Obtained dismissal of case brought against client alleging trademark infringement, counterfeiting, false advertising, and unfair competition (2020).
  • Successfully prevented court from deciding New Mexico law applies to written off medical expenses instead of Texas law, which would have made an almost seven figure difference in amount ultimately presented to jury, while defending products liability claim (2020).
  • Obtained judgment for full amount of rent owed to landlord client in breach of lease dispute (2019).
  • Key part of team that obtained remand of case improperly removed to bankruptcy court, In re Senior Care Centers, LLC, 611 B.R. 791, 802 (Bankr. N.D. Tex. 2019).
  • Key part of litigation team that obtained order requiring patent infringer to pay revenue from infringing product into escrow and to remove misleading advertising relating to infringing product after preliminary injunction hearing, which led to favorable settlement of patent dispute (2019).
  • Obtained desirable and creative settlement, including exclusive listing agreement, for real estate broker clients facing negligent misrepresentation claims brought by former prospective buyer of apartment complex (2018).
  • First chair jury trial experience and achieved very favorable settlement midtrial for luxury car dealership facing breach of contract, warranty, negligent misrepresentation, DTPA, and fraud claims (2018).
  • Obtained take nothing judgment for insurance agency and insurance agent facing negligent procurement, breach of contract, DTPA, and Insurance Code claims on loss alleged to exceed $600,000.00 (2018).
  • Obtained dismissal for sporting goods client facing commercial claims brought by client’s retailer alleging over $1 million in contractual and extracontractual damages (2017).
  • Key part of arbitration team that obtained take nothing arbitration award and recovered attorney’s fees for S&P 600 client facing commercial claims brought by client’s Fortune 250 vendor alleging over $1 million in contractual and extracontractual damages (2017).
