We have an immediate opening for a detail-oriented Accounts Receivable/ Accounts Payable Coordinator for our Legal Firm.

We are looking for someone with excellent communication skills, and is detailed, eager to learn, and good at interacting with professionals and clients. The successful candidate should be a self-starter and must have previous Billing and Invoicing experience, data entry, AR, reconciliation of transactions by client and various administrative duties and projects. Cross-training with the Billing function may take place once the candidate is comfortable with his/her new role

Responsibilities include:
· Generating AR aging reports and identify critical issues.
· Coding AP invoices to appropriate general ledger accounts.
· Reviewing/analyzing the firm’s accounts receivable and making any necessary collection contacts, including emails and telephone calls, to clients.
· Typically the candidate should expect up to 60 A/R touches daily with some AP (mostly bank ACH’s).

Required Skills:
· Knowledge and ability to work with Excel, Word, and Outlook
· Ability to create client invoices in accordance with their contract
· Ability to research disputes and customer issues
· Preparing deposits
· Gathering new account information as needed
· Responding to internal and external emails in a timely and professional manner
· Assisting with special projects and general office duties as needed
· Intense attention to accuracy
· The ability to organize and prioritize tasks and work spaces
· Completing work in a timely manner and with consideration for the Accounting Departments deadlines.

Law firm experience, including the use of law firm billing systems, is preferred, but not required.

Experienced Transactional Attorney needed in our Austin, TX office to assist with a variety of transactional matters, primarily including information technology related agreements. The successful candidate should have between three and seven years of recent experience in a law firm or inhouse legal department and should have experience with a wide variety of IT transactions, such as on-premises licenses, SaaS licenses, subscription agreements, and related services agreements. Superior academic credentials and excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills are a must because the successful candidate will be asked to engage in significant client interaction, including counseling clients on day-to-day matters and leading the negotiation of various agreements directly with counterparties. Interest in additional areas of law, such as trademarks, copyrights, contests/sweepstakes, and social media are a plus and may offer additional work streams beyond the transactional practice.

Salary will be based on experience. Discretionary bonuses may also be awarded. Additional benefits will be provided that are competitive with other similar sized law firms in the Austin area.

This position is an opportunity for an early to mid-career level attorney to begin developing his or her own book of business under the tutelage of seasoned attorneys at FBFK.

Seeking a Patent Agent with a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or Physics for Austin, Houston, or Plano office.

Ideal candidates will have 2+ years of patent prosecution experience. USPTO reg. no. is preferred but not required. Prior work experience in a law firm environment is strongly preferred. Responsibilities: Patent Agents work under the supervision and guidance of senior associates and partners in our robust Intellectual Property section and perform a variety of patent-related activities, primarily in the areas of patent prosecution.

Specific duties include:
• Review invention disclosure documents and conduct invention disclosure meetings
• Conduct prior art searches; review prior art references and analyze patentability
• Draft patent applications
• Review USPTO Office Actions, formulate response strategy, conduct examiner interviews, and draft and file responses
• Manage U.S. and foreign dockets
• Analyze patents in connection with due diligence and/or freedom to operate analyses
• Perform other duties as necessary and assigned by your supervisor.

Minimum billable requirement is 1700 hours. Annual bonuses possible. Firm offers law school tuition assistance for night classes is possible after first year of employment if agreed in advance of school registration.
