Hong holds a license to provide legal services in China, and has more than a decade of experience representing clients in all types of disputes involving international trade laws. These include antidumping and countervailing duty investigations conducted under Title VII of the Tariff Act of 1930. In addition, Hong has advised international clients on both outbound and inbound transactions with China.
Hong has substantial experience representing Chinese manufacturing exporters involved in proceedings in the United States, Canada, the European Union, Australia, India, Pakistan, Vietnam, Indonesia and other countries. As a lead lawyer, he has represented companies in international trade proceedings involving a wide variety of industries, including:
- Countervailing duty and antidumping proceeding in Australia involving aluminum extrusion from China.
- Antidumping investigation in the United States of grain-oriented electrical steel from China.
- Antidumping investigation in EU of WWAN modems from China.
- Antidumping investigation in India of polyester filament yarn from China.
Hong also has provided counsel on the impact of trade regulation on international business planning, including both outbound and inbound transactions with China. With extensive knowledge of Chinese legal and business cultures, Hong is uniquely qualified to assist clients in achieving their business goals. Holding a license to provide legal services in China, Hong guides clients doing business in China through the dispute resolution process and pursues solutions that comply with both Chinese and U.S. law.
Prior to coming to the United States, Hong worked on trade-related matters at several multinational law firms, including the largest China-based law firm, Dacheng Law Offices (now part of the global law firm Dentons).
